Here is the complete list of books published by John Green, American author, producer, and Youtube content creator.

John Green is famous in the YA genre. The film adaptation of one of his novels, The Fault in Our Stars, became a worldwide box office success.

Who Is John Green?

Born on August 24, 1977, in Indianapolis, Indiana, John Green’s early education experience was partial to other social outsiders who get bullied. He attended Lake Highland Preparatory School and Indian Springs School and graduated university from Kenyon College, double majoring in Religious Studies and English.

After graduating, Green became a student chaplain at a children’s hospital because he initially wanted to be an Episcopal priest. However, spending time with terminally-ill children pushed him to become a writer instead. He then worked afterward as a publishing assistant and critic for a book review journal called Bookist.

Green published his first novel, Looking for Alaska, in 2005. Inspired by his experience at Indian Springs, it is a coming-of-age romance novel featuring the main character named Miles. It became an instant hit and was featured at the New York Times bestseller list for seven years.

His second novel, An Abundance of Katherines, also received internationally wide acclaim. Some of the awards it received include the runner-up position for the Printz Award and Los Angeles Times Book Prize’s finalist stand.

Paper Towns also became a hit in 2008, but Green’s ultimate success came when he published The Fault in Our Stars in 2012. The novel tells the story of a girl named Hazel, who has terminal lung cancer, and a boy named Augustus who also had cancer.

According to Green, he specifically intended not to write a happy ending for the book, but instead put hope. His witty writing flow and clever philosophical approach in discussing sensitive subject matter such as grief and death earned him a lot of praise and recognition around the world.

The film adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars featuring Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodly premiered in June 2014. Aside from writing, Green is also known for his Youtube ventures. He and his brother Hank Green started the Vlogbrothers channel in 2007.
