The Full List of Nora Roberts Books

Updated 2020

Here is the complete list of books published by Nora Roberts, an accomplished romance novel author who wrote over 225 romance novels.

Nora Roberts was the first author to be appointed into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame.

Who Is Nora Roberts?

Born on October 10, 1950, in Silver Spring, Maryland, Nora Roberts was the youngest out of five children. She met her husband while in high school, and got married soon after graduating.

She bore two sons, Jason and Dan, and said that raising her children as a homemaker was considered as her “Earth Mother” years. She spent her free time doing arts and crafts, including making ceramics and sewing clothes for her kids.

It wasn’t until 1979 during a February blizzard when she started writing her first novel. According to Roberts, being stuck in her house with nothing but snow all around her spurred her to write because she had nothing else to do.

As soon as she held a pen, she instantly fell in love with writing and ended up producing six manuscripts instantly.

Roberts faced a couple of rejections before publishing her first novel. Her first work, Irish Thoroughbred, was published in 1981. She produced 23 more books in the next three years.

Nora Roberts got her taste of real recognition when she published Playing the Odds, the first book of her best selling romantic series, in 1985. The novel was a great success, and Roberts received a lot of fame among the romance novel readers.

From 1991 to 2001, Roberts had 68 novels penned as best sellers by The New York Times. She was also the author of the four out of the five most popular and best-selling romantic novels in 1999 and 2000, according to USA Today.

She was also involved in a plagiarism scandal where she sued author Janet Daily for copying her work. Daily eventually confessed to the crime.

We speak to the dead.”Immediately after hearing these words, uttered to her by an old Romanian woman bleeding to death in the street, detective Eve Dallas begins to notice that her latest case has come with a number of interesting side-effects: visions of the deceased, instant familiarity with rooms she’s never seen before, and fluency in Russian. Likewise, there appears to be a force inside of her, a spirit other than her own, that won’t let her rest until she’s found Beata, the old woman’s great-granddaughter, whose disappearance two months prior remains a mystery. Desperate to be free of her new “gifts”, Eve pursues the facts until she discovers a link between Beata’s disappearance and the disappearance of eight other young women, all of whom attended the same dance classes, none of whom were ever heard from again.

137) Chasing Fire – 2011

  • Book Summary: In this #1 New York Times bestseller, Nora Roberts delves into the world of elite firefighters who thrive on danger and adrenaline—men and women who wouldn’t know how to live life if it wasn’t on the edge.Little else in life is as dangerous as fire jumping. Flying past towering pillars of smoke, parachuting down to the edge of an all-consuming blaze, shoveling and sawing for hours upon hours, days at a time, all to hold the line and push back against the raw power of Mother Nature. But there’s also little else as thrilling – at least to Rowan Tripp. The Missoula smoke jumpers are one of the most exclusive firefighting squads in the nation, and the job is in Rowan’s blood: her father is a legend in the field. She’s been fighting fires since her eighteenth birthday. At this point, returning to the wilds of Montana for the season feels like coming home – even with reminders of the partner she lost last season still lingering in the air.Fortunately, this year’s rookie crop is among the strongest ever – and Gulliver Curry’s one of the best. He’s also a walking contradiction, a hotshot firefighter with a big vocabulary and a winter job at a kids’ arcade. He came to Missoula to follow in the footsteps of Lucas “Iron Man” Tripp, yet he’s instantly more fascinated by his hero’s daughter. Rowan, as a rule, doesn’t hook up with other smoke jumpers, but Gull is convinced he can change her mind. And damn if he doesn’t make a good case to be an exception to the rule.Everything is thrown off balance, though, when a dark presence lashes out against Rowan, looking to blame someone for last year’s tragedy. Rowan knows she can’t complicate things with Gull – any distractions in the air or on the ground could be lethal. But if she doesn’t find someone she can lean on when the heat gets intense, her life may go down in flames.

It began on New Year’s Eve.The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed—and more than half of the world’s population was decimated.Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place. Some of it is unimaginably evil, and it can lurk anywhere, around a corner, in fetid tunnels beneath the river—or in the ones you know and love the most.As word spreads that neither the immune nor the gifted are safe from the authorities who patrol the ravaged streets, and with nothing left to count on but each other, Lana and Max make their way out of a wrecked New York City. Arlys, a journalist who has lost her audience but uses pen and paper to record the truth. 170) Dark in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel – 2017

  • Book Summary: Lieutenant Eve Dallas returns in Dark in Death, by J.D. Robb, the #1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense, and takes on a case of death imitating art…
It was a stab in the dark.On a chilly February night, during a screening of Psycho in midtown, someone sunk an ice pick into the back of Chanel Rylan’s neck, then disappeared quietly into the crowds of drunks and tourists in Times Square. To Chanel’s best friend, who had just slipped out of the theater for a moment to take a call, it felt as unreal as the ancient black-and-white movie up on the screen. But Chanel’s blood ran red, and her death was anything but fictional. Then, as Eve Dallas puzzles over a homicide that seems carefully planned and yet oddly personal, she receives a tip from an unexpected source: an author of police thrillers who recognizes the crime—from the pages of her own book. Dallas doesn’t think it’s coincidence, since a recent strangulation of a sex worker resembles a scene from her writing as well. Cops look for patterns of behavior: similar weapons, similar MOs. But this killer seems to find inspiration in someone else’s imagination, and if the theory holds, this may be only the second of a long-running series. The good news is that Eve and her billionaire husband Roarke have an excuse to curl up in front of the fireplace with their cat, Galahad, reading mystery stories for research. The bad news is that time is running out before the next victim plays an unwitting role in a murderer’s deranged private drama—and only Eve can put a stop to a creative impulse gone horribly, destructively wrong. From the author of Echoes in Death, this is the latest of the edgy, phenomenally popular police procedurals that Publishers Weekly calls “inventive, entertaining, and clever.”
