Substrates are the supports or foundations from which another substance is applied. They are vital in printing because they are used to print images for duplication, mostly paper, cardboard, and cloth.

The substrate should allow heat, pressure, and ink application during the process without any incompatibility. In addition, it should not smear or bleed when ink is used on it.

The substrate choice is crucial in this context to ensure excellent print quality. Its size should be rectangular and conform to specified dimensions, thickness, and flat without bumps or irregularities.

Before printing, the substrate needs to be well prepared. The ink surface must be kept from being exposed and cleaned correctly to maximize the adhesion of ink. Otherwise, it may lead to poor print quality that can last less than expected.

Printing has substrates, and they play a vital role. Thus, a high-quality print is realized if suitable substrates are selected.

Printing could only happen with the substrates as they form the basis on which the images will sit. Without the other, one would be lost in space – and in vain. Without one, the ink would float aimlessly through space. It would not reach its intended target, resulting in an unreadable printout. It must be tough enough to support the weight of ink and printing press yet smooth sufficient to enable sharp text and clear images. In addition, there are many kinds of substrates, each of which possesses inherent properties. Consequently, choosing a suitable substrate is a must for successful printing.
