  1. Hi!

I love this template. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of where to change the copyright from © 2010 jennhardy.com to Pork Pie Media, my company.

Also, there is something funny happening on the portfolio section of my website. Some of the hyperlinks are grey, others are orange. Is there any way to make it consistent?

Thanks so much for the awesome template!

    Jenn

    • Jenn,

We are glad you like the Greener Side theme. There are two ways to go about changing the copyright.
The first would be to go into your General Settings in your WordPress Control Panel and change your Blog Title.

Now if you want to keep your Blog Title to read jennhardy.com and just change the copyright you would need to edit the footer.php file for this theme, you would be looking for the code and once you find it you just replace that code with the text you want it to read.

      I hope this helps.

  2. Love the theme, shame it doesn’t work for IE6. Any suggestions of how to create a suitable IE6 alternative version, or is this likely to be a future update you might do?

    • Brooner,

We are working on getting it to show correctly for IE6 and IE7, if we pull it off it will be in the next update.

  3. we love the grass! one thing – under the meta widget, the login link has disappeared.
is there any other spot this could be hiding?
    thanks!
    Coleen

    • Thanks, I sent you an email with the new file you need. I will also be including this fix in our latest update.

  4. Hello,
Thank you for getting back to me. I am not having any luck though. I definitely want the blog title to remain the same. In the footer.php what should the code look like? I cannot find anything too obvious…

    Any ideas?

Thanks again for this awesome theme!

    • I’m glad you found it, looks great! I actually meant to tell you what to look for but WordPress removed it from my comment since it was code(duh). But great job figuring it out despite my goof!

    • Hi Julie,

You can remove the link by finding the text “Subscribe to Feed” in the header.php file. You will delete everything from the <li> before it to the </li> behind it.

  5. I am having a problem with all of the pages with the main page as an exception overlapping onto the links/widget sidebar. I have activated a few other themes to make sure my content(especially the ecommerce cart i just added) wasnt the issue. They all worked fine, but I adore this theme far too much to change.. Help please 🙂

  6. i love the template; thanks. The foreground grass is defeating the ability of users to click ‘submit comment’. It can be achieved via the tab key, and I will add a few s under the button to push it up, but though you should know.

    Thanks again.

  7. Hi, Love the look of Greener Side and it is perfect for our Summer blog however the ‘submit comment’ function is not working.

Nothing happens when you click the ‘submit comment’ button. Have tried this requiring or not requiring registration, with and without requiring login, and making sure pages allow comments. Have also tried looking at it with chrome and with firefox.

Can you help me fix this? Would love to use this theme.

    Many thanks,
    Gordon

  8. Love the theme. It’s displaying well for me, the only issue is that when someone attempts to leave a comment, the submit button doesn’t appear to be ‘linked’ or working. You click submit and nothing happens.

Anyone else report this issue and/or know of a fix for it?

    Thanks

  9. Love the theme. It’s REALLY nice. My only problem so far is that my readership cannot press the “comment” or “submit” buttons that are on the bottom of the page. Is there a way I can get around that, like or something like that?

  10. Hi,
thanks for creating such a lovely theme! We used it for our urban farming project – the result is simply perfect and would never look so good without your creativity.
    Greetings from Germany
    Danielle

  11. Got it, thanks all the same. For the record, it was formatting values that had been inadvertently pasted into the post. HTML view revealed them.

    Again, love the theme.

    • Thanks to everyone who has notified us of the Incompatible Archive issue. I have now updated this post with a link at the bottom that should solve the issue.

  12. Love this theme!
    Nice job!
Ill borrow this theme from you untill I know how to make one myself 😉

    again, great job!

  13. Hi I am having trouble updateing the theme in wordpress 3.0
An error occurred while updating Greener Side: Incompatible Archive. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature.

  14. Great theme but would like the link from the calender to take a user directly to the main page for the date entry, not first going to the teaser page (that says “read the rest of this entry” etc). How can I modify the calender link to do this?

    Many thanks.

  15. Just downloaded version 4.6 from WP themes, and it still has the grass at the bottom blocking the comment and navigation links.

  16. Search result paging does not work!

the link to “Next post” is only
    …/wordpress/?paged=2

    and not paged
    …/wodpress/?s=query&paged=2

    How can I resolve it?
    TY

  17. Hi Adazing,

How can I set the default home page or change the home page to different page. Each time it goes to the home page

    ” Error 404 – File Not Found.

We’re sorry, the file you requested could not be found. Please check for a mis-typed URL error, then press the refresh button on your browser. ”

    Kind Regards

    Yasser

  18. How does one create a drop down menu on the top page/links tool bar? For instance, w/p has parent pages and I created a child of the one titled “Termites,” yet there is no link to be found. GS only allows a limited number of page/links to be placed in an orderly manner, so some type of drop dowm menu would be a great addition to my site!

Also, how does one link text? I tried to copy (from another site) a link with the word “termite” in my text which would lead to another page (while in the wp html mode): (http://www.pctonline.com/PCT1001_csiTermites.aspx)
but it ended up showing all the text, just as above. I figured out how to link a J-Peg and there is an “insert link” button on WP, but it does not do anything ;-(

I would greatly appreciate your help!!!!!
    Sincerely,
    Phil

  19. I happen to select this theme for my sisters website because of her domain name, she loves it and good portion of the visitors have also made comments on it.

One of the thing she mentioned is that it woul dbe nice to have a Older Post/Newer Posts located at the bottom, so you don’t have to scroll all the way back to the top and click in the catagories or archive.

A good example can be seen here http://www.templatelite.com/livedemo/?id=6

If you scroll to the bottom you will see what I mean. Is there and easy way to add this?

    Thanks,
    Charles

  20. Never mind I have found that the feature that I was requesting is already there, just hidden below the grass. I simply found it in the code and added some space or carraige returns brought it above the grass.

    Thanks,
    Charles

  21. Thank you for this beautiful summer-theme! It fits perfectly to our festival-site.

I have a problem with the background of the pages (except the blogg-page) becoming black in many but not all web-readers. This makes the text harder to read and I wonder how to get the white background back.
I have a forum at one page and I deactivated but nothing changed. I also checked the HTML for the pages but found nothing about changing the background there.

Thanks very much if you can help me with this! Emma

  22. The Greener Side theme is perfect for a client I’m building a site for (Lawn Maintenance Company). I would however, like to remove the butterflies. How would I go about this?

    Thanks,
    Ken Hoffman

  23. I downloaded the free green-side and can’t find the setup in the folder. so how do i install it to my pc?
can some body help me please.

  24. Hi, i have the same issue as Christine with wp-ecommerce plug-in. I can’t click on links in my widgets panel.

Can you send me the code too, please ?
Thanks in advance, and for the great work 🙂

  25. It is annoying with a lot of these themes to get things where you want them. Your spring theme proved nearly effortless in getting posts to look attractive and fun. 5 stars for the grass!
Still need to get the comments box removed from the footer on te home page but otherwise everythng looks great.

  26. Hi there,

I’m really loving this theme. Thanks for your great efforts. Just having a problem with my left hand border text alignment. It goes for about the length of a paragraph in a stright line down and then all of a sudden steps a few letters to the left. Do you possibly have a fix for this.

  27. I do not like the feature where the webpage does “read the rest of this article” is there anyway to remove this and just have the whole article fully shown and not hidden. I would also like to change the title of my website to a different font size, but can’t figure it out. Otherwise I do really like this theme.

    • Hi Jill, I don’t see your url so I can just guess. I would see if you might have made one of your posts sticky so it is stuck on the top of your blog.
